Choosing a Paid to Search Engine

search1“Paid to Search” Engines have become somewhat popular, in recent years. These search sites offer: straight up earnings, a prize system or mix of the two, to reward users. Most also give bonuses, for referring new members. While full reviews are available here on HowToMakeMoneyOnTheInternet.info, the goal of this article, is to help you identify the paid search site, or combination of sites, which suits you best.
My personal favorite is currently, SwagBucks.  Here “bucks” are redeemed for prizes (including Amazon gift cards), and can be attained many ways , in addition to searching. The 100% prize match, for referring members, can help your “bucks” add up quickly. Even without referrals, prizes are still very attainable. One of the great things about Swagbucks, is that you usually win within a reasonable amount of time each day.
Scour is one of the few straight up earnings search sites. Here, searches net 1 point each, and commenting or rating search results are worth 1 point each, for a maximum of 3 points per search. You are allowed to earn up to 300 points per day on Scour. This would enable you to cash out for a $25 Visa gift card, in 22 days. The site offers a bonus equal to 25% of the points all your referrals earn, which could certainly accelerate earnings. Scour takes up more time than Swagbucks, but payouts are less dependent on referrals, and you have greater control over how much you make.
Blingo is actually a flat out “win by searching” site. The site is presented by Publishers Clearing House, so although wins are uncommon, many large prizes are offered . On Blingo you receive a matching prize if one of your referrals wins, even if it’s a big one. As an added bonus, your first search each day also enters you into the PCH Super Prize drawing.
These are my top three picks in Paid to Search engines and I feel most people will find a good match, with one or a combination of these search sites. I use all three to varying degrees, and they all produce decent search results. If you want even more options, more sites are reviewed here in the Rewards Search Engine section.
